Oncolink provides free clinic plus counseling
The clinics are held every Saturday at 66, DurgaCharan Doctor Road, Kolkata-700014 and every Thursday at NiramoyBhavan, 38/1 Sultan Alam Road, Kolkata-700033. Since treatment of cancer is institutional Oncolink refers the patients to the member and friend oncologists at different government hospitals.
Proper guidance and counseling to the patients and their families are needed at different stages
- when there is a suspect
- when the case is diagnosed
- when the treatment is on going
- when there is no scope for further curative treatment
- when the palliative care is needed
Early detection of cancer is most important
To this effect Oncolink conducts early detection camps of cervix and breast cancer with the help of both private and public modalities. The positive cases are brought to the purview of treatment under the government set ups.
Prevention of cancer, another important aspect
Prevention is better than cure and that is a very important aspect for any disease, especially for cancer. Oncolink organises different training programmes related to symptoms and treatment for cancer, especially for breast, cervix, head and neck etc. which are preventable if diagnosed earlier. Oncolink also organises training programme on Palliative care, for the health workers, community workers and others, to ensure better management of the patients during terminal illness.
Oncolink's Low Cost Temporary Accommodation for cancer patients

A free clinic plus counseling centre for pain management is run there once in every week.
